Lapland looked fantastic for our trip tonight, the forests glowing in the golden evening sunlight. We watched a reindeer grasing beside the road for a while, who posed for us between the trees. The sky had a little thin cloud shading the sun at midnight, however this allowed us to look in its direction as without this it would have been too bright. The moon was almost full and was close the horizon on the exact opposite of the sky to the sun. A very enchanting sight to see this arrangement of those 2 familiar features of the sky.
We celebrated the midnight moment by raising our glasses to toast the midnight sun, it is always magical to realise that it is midnight and the sun is shining brightly.
