The thin cloud began to clear as we made our way out into the wilderness, the twilight light illuminating the clear holes in the cloud. As the light faded the clouds also began to open to reveal so many stars, and finally we got our first signs of the aurora light brightening the sky through the now many holes in the cloud. The bright arc of light was across the sky, green at the bottom and fading to purple/pink at the top.
We made our way home stopping to watch the display and to get some more pictures. At the end the sky was clear and the northern lights were still lighting up the northern sky through the trees.
