We drove out of the city under dark clouds and it began to rain. Everyone was optimistic and thought that their guide was slightly over exaggerating when they were told that there may well be a hint of Aurora to be seen if we were lucky to have an opening in the clouds towards the north. We arrived at base camp and made our way to a viewing point. On our arrival, I instantly pointed out to all the guests that I could clearly see that there was some Aurora activity in the night sky behind obscuring clouds and gave a detailed explanation as to how I could see this. Convincing some was not easy, however, within a short spell of time, a slight opening in the cloud gave everyone the sighting that they so wanted to see.
