Clear sky after the rain, then the northern lights lit up, 13.09.2018

Tonight as we made our way out into the wilderness the rain stopped and the sky began to clear. Little by little the small holes in the cloud began to spread and join up, soon quite large gaps in the once fully cloudy sky gave us hope. After arriving to our destination the twilight was fading fast and so many stars began to take over the space once occupied by cloud, the first signs of aurora activity was visible through the camera. Then tall pillars of light began to reach up into space, this was the moment we had all been hoping for the northern lights had switched on.
We also stopped once on the way back to town as they once more became very bright and chased each other around the sky, what a night.
