Tonight we spent the whole night under a perfectly clear sky, the moon set as we drove out to our destination. So it was only the star light, the northern lights had for competition tonight, and they won hands down.
The first feint signs of the aurora we saw as we arrived to our base camp, the display gradually becoming clearer as we made our way up our hill. The twilight faded and then the northern lights gave a full force display directly overhead. The whole sky was filled with bright dancing lights, the pictures could only get small sections of such a massive display, what a night in Lapland it was.
