Our birch wood fire was an attraction tonight as we waited for signs of the northern lights, the moon even hiding from us. The flickering light of the fire is so perfect for story telling and the sharing knowledge of Lapland. We had fun with serving the warm drinks, quite a revelation! Then we had time to share a bit of Lappish shamanism, our futures cast it was fun explaining the results. The time came to return to town, and we headed back but we stopped to check at our usual spots. Yes at the first of these checking places there were stars visible and finally the northern lights peeping through a hole in the cloud. The camera’s busy while we could capture the northern lights, we did not have them visible for long but we saw them.
