Board the waiting coach for a ride to Kukkolankoski one of the biggest free rapids in Europe. This impressive rapid is the largest in river Tornio which is also the border between Finland and Sweden. Here we can make very special nature pictures and admire the power of the nature on frozen river banks. We enjoy our lunch in a romantic restaurant just on the shore.

If you like some relaxing spend time in sauna in your hotel before enjoying the Christmas celebration buffet including Finnish and international specialties. For the evening meal we go outside of the town into a Christmassy lodge in the forest.

This festive Christmas dinner includes many traditional Finnish and international Christmas delicacies. By old Finnish tradition Santa Claus comes to the dining room after the dinner. Santa brings a gift to all guests, adults and children alike.  We may freely take pictures with Santa indoors and outdoors with the snow.

28th of December

This is our last day in Lapland which we spend in Ranua Wildlife Park.

There are about 50 different wild animal species and 200 different individuals at the Ranua Wildlife Park. All the animals live within spacious fencing along the 2,8 km Park trail in the middle of the surrounding forest wilderness.

Most of the trail is built on wooden footbridges and duck boards and is easy to travel providing an unhampered view into the animal fencings. In the winter you may like to have a sled to help travelling with the children, in the summer pushchairs are available. Pushchairs and sleds are for rent at the ticket office. The Ranua Wildlife Park aims for multi-sensory experiences: with the help of the audio guide and the experience checkpoints along the trail you will use all your senses while exploring the Park.

Lunch is offered in the park’s cosy restaurant.

Sauna and pool in the hotel. Buffet dinner in hotel restaurant with the river view.

Option: Did you see the Northern Lights already? If not or if you want to see more join our tour again and see the lights! We have got the best site for following the lights in Rovaniemi!
