We, people working here, are locals and we have a really long experience in travel services in Lapland! We know the best things of Finland and Lapland. Our story began in year 1996 when Veli, local born nature lover, who returned after 10 years of studies in the university to his home area near Rovaniemi and grounded a new program service business based on his long experience in the nature of Lapland. He was best known before as eager fisherman and hiker in the area and Lapland champion in 1500 m running. Nowadays Lapland Welcome that is still managed by Veli is one of the most famous program service companies in Finland having offices in Kemi, Katkavaara, Rovaniemi, Saariselka and Inari. Lapland Welcome has reached TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in several years and TripAdvisor status “The 3rd Most Instagrammable Destination in the World 2019”.

We offer full service holiday packages and all kind of travel services. We also specialize in creating tailor-made packages in authentic environment.  We are a bit more adventurous and a bit less commercial choice! We are also known as nature, hunting, fishing and Northern Lights experts in Rovaniemi. Our groups are rather small, this way the service is better. We also make great incentive packages with our team. We hope that you will find a lot of interesting and unique products on our pages.  We wish you welcome to Finland!

We do have tourist buses in our company from 8 seaters to 50 seaters. You can order all transfers needed from Helsinki to Ice Sea. We also offer flights world wide.

We are one of the most interesting nature tourism companies in Finnish Lapland offering seasonal jobs for number of people. In the recent years we offered annual full time, part time and seasonal jobs for 30 – 75 people in Lapland.

Sustainable travelling

Lapland Welcome is a member of Sustainable Travel project in Finland. We believe that being sustainable with all our partners, employees and environment we reach the best result in a long run. Untouched nature and wilderness of Lapland, as well as its unique culture and heritage, is something to be cherished and worth of preserving for the future generations to enjoy as well. This is why we seek not only to share the natural beauty of Lappish wilderness, but also to do so without causing any damage to the local wildlife or environment.

To help us achieve these goals, we have decided to take part to the Sustainable Travel Finland project, which is helping to advance responsible and sustainable practices in the travel industry, and which is aiming to make Finland a model case of sustainable tourism done right.

From our end, we recognize that one of the greatest burdens we place on to the local environment are the carbon footprint and vehicle emissions. This is why we seek to reduce both our carbon footprint and vehicle emissions by 2026. Our snowmobiles and ATVs already use the far more fuel efficient and less polluting four stroke engines. In addition, we have also made the commitment to reduce our emissions even further through the use sustainable and renewable fuels in all our vehicles.

Of course, the best way to reduce pollution and vehicle emissions, is by using the vehicles themselves less frequently. To this end, we encourage all our staff and customers to collective transfers instead of driving individually.

Studies have also found that production of plant-based products generates far less greenhouse gas emissions, than animal-based ones. Many of our tours include either a meal or snacks, and we always have vegan and vegetarian options available to anyone who prefer one. Everyone can help us reduce food waste by telling us ahead of time if you would like a vegetarian meal during your tour.

Being sustainable and responsible operator, however, encompasses more than just looking after the environment. For us, it means also caring for the local culture and cultural heritage. During your tour, you will be guided by one of professional guides, who are trained and familiar with both the local nature and culture. It is our belief that raising awareness and telling you about the unique nature of the Lappish wilderness and heritage will help you to love Lapland and its culture just as deeply as we do.

As a responsible operator, we always follow local laws and national instructions and collective contracts in all possible ways. Furthermore, we are committed to being an inclusive workplace and company, providing equal opportunities, and welcoming everyone regardless of background, ethnicity, or orientation. We provide the best possible long-term contracts for our staff members.

We highly respect local culture and way of life. We also support local students to find training opportunities in our company. Shortly saying we act as sustainable way as possible in all aspects in our company.
