The creation of the northern lights explained as we searched for signs of stars or the northern lights through the thin cloud. The fire once lit was as usual an attraction, time for some stories the cameras needed setting up and then just as the fire was ready the quad bike safari joined us at our location. We shared the experience of warming food over the fire and enjoyed warm drinks while we waited. There was time tonight to share a fine Finish tradition, a little shamanism around the fire, such exciting times to come for our guests. Then a few stars became visible the sky now looking bright and yes the first signs of the northern lights there was still hope. We stayed a little longer to give the northern lights a chance to show up but in the end we headed back. But then on the way back the hole in the cloud that our little hill started spread across the sky and now it was so clear above us, we stopped at location where we could check for the northern lights. Once the minibus lights were off we could all see how clear the sky was and yes there were the northern lights adding a glow to the edge of the cloud still filling the sky to the north. Finally we got to see them and the cameras ready we got some pictures also, we were late but if we had been on time we wold have missed the whole point of the trip, result!
