Tonight we headed out to our viewing spot as the last of day light refused to give up the sky to darkness. We kept checking out for signs of the northern lights as the brightness faded. As we made our way up to our viewing location we met a single toad on the path, it looked like it was guarding the rout up the hill. The northern lights explained we gathered around the fire for some food and warm drinks, but before we could get into some stories the first bright points appeared in the sky. The northern lights had appeared, and as the sky continued to darken the northern lights became bigger and brighter, filling half the sky. Pillars of light moving along the arc of the northern lights, every now and then becoming very bright here and there across the sky. What a beautiful night we had, the northern lights continued to dance as we made our way back to town, they just could not stop.
