Bright moon, pale northern lights 14.09.2019

The last clouds faded away as time passed, the sky was so clear and the sunset colours of orange looked so warm. We arrived to our base camp and just as we were preparing to go up the hill the northern lights began a little dance for us in the west. A rush to get everyone to see this first burst of activity and what hope for later it gave us. The almost full moon really illuminated the landscape, so much so that the pale northern lights struggled to get themselves noticed in such a bright sky. They brightened and faded through the evening but only pale until we were about to leave our base camp when again the came brighter for us to watch. Cameras quickly positioned and some good shots taken, then we set off to return to town. On the way we had to stop to take in another and the brightest burst of northern lights activity for this evening, a little late by now but so pleased that we got this burst of green light moving across the sky, ah happy customers.
