The sky came into focus from a hazy fuzzy start 01.12.2019

We arrived to our destination under a dark sky, no stars to be seen. As we set out to walk to our viewing spot the first stars were starting to stand out if a little fuzzy. The hazy cloud was slowly releasing its grip on the sky, the fuzzy stars becoming brighter and so clear as if coming into focus. Then the northern lights began to brighten, they would then fade only to come bright again, although they moved further north then coming south again. Our guests tonight took the chance to sample a Finnish wilderness fireside experience. I watched the sky while they relaxed around the fire, though they were all out for every burst of brighter northern lights eager not to miss this aspect of the safari. The northern lights were performing well tonight, inspired by the clear dark sky. The best moment came when the arc of the northern lights burst into tall pillars of light dancing and chasing each other across the sky for our delight, I had the whole group out before this happened so we all got to watch the raw power of nature performing.
