A long wait but finally the northern lights 14.10.2019

The cloudy sky was quite dark as we left town, the full moon even not visible at all. We got our first sighting of the moon as we turned off onto the gravel roads, the sky getting brighter. We stopped and checked the sky at our usual spots but nothing to report. The sky over our location looked brighter as we approached but still cloudy, by the time we arrived to our viewing spot the cloud was trying to open up and in the distance to the west we could see clear open sky. We watched and waited, the cloud holding on the sky above us, so the fireside was the place
to be for a while, the food and drinks consumed we got the chance to practice a little shamanism, a look into our futures for the positive things to come. Then came the time to leave, but why the sky started to open so we stayed 15 minutes later, then we headed back to our base camp to get changed, while this was happening I watched the sky like a hawk, the cloud disappearing fast now the holes joining up to patches of clear sky, then the first patch of extra brightness in among the cloud. The camera was ready and the first picture revealed where the northern lights were so just a little wait before the brightened. Everyone was keen to see something so we all watched as the cameras were busy catching the first brighter moments in the light of the full moon, finally they got a little brighter so we could see them moving about among the now very thin patchy cloud, phew the turned up right as we were about to leave, so glad we waited a little longer.
