Christmas Tour in Kemi 2024

Kemi is a very northern town in Finnish Lapland standing just by the biggest ice field in Europe – the frozen Gulf of Bothnia.

23rd of December – Welcome to Lapland 

Arrival at Kemi Airport or Kemi Railway Station. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner buffet and accommodation.

24th of December – Christmas Eve

Scandinavian type breakfast buffet is available in the hotel.

Board the waiting coach for a short ride to a local sled dog farm. After learning about husky team driving you’ll take off on a memorable ride, two persons sharing each sleigh and team (kids travel in guide’s or parents’ sleds depending on their age). See also a Lappish kota teepee and enjoy barbeque lunch in a teepee by open fire.

If you like some relaxing spend time in sauna before enjoying the Christmas celebration buffet including Finnish and international specialities. For the evening meal we go outside of the town into a Christmassy lodge in the forest. By old Finnish tradition Santa Claus comes to the dining room. Santa brings a gift to all guests, adults and children alike.  After the Christmas dinner we join Lapland Welcome’s legendary Northern Lights trip nearby. With some luck you may witness this unique natural phenomenon. Overnight in the hotel in Kemi.

25th of December – Christmas Day
Excursion to Arctic Circle and Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi

Enjoy breakfast buffet and be prepared for today’s great excursion to Arctic Circle in the north. The coach ride from Kemi takes about 1,5 hours. Before visiting Arctic Circle, visit a reindeer farm on the way. There you’ll learn about reindeers and their life in the wilderness and Lappish reindeer culture. You’ll also take a ride in a reindeer-pulled sleigh. The reindeer herder might deliver your very own international “reindeer driving license”. After the reindeer farm we will drive to Santa Claus Village where you may meet the big man himself and buy a picture with him. Lunch is served in Santa’s restaurant in Rovaniemi.

Coach transfer back to Kemi in the late afternoon.

26th of December

After the breakfast buffet it is time to head out from the town into the snowy wilds and experience a snowmobile safari in the woods. You may drive or sit as passenger. Lunch in the middle of nowhere.

You may also try some snowshoe walking and ice fishing during this day. Snowy memories guaranteed!

27th of December

Today it is time to leave this northern town after such an impressive stay. Breakfast and airport transfer is included.

Option: If you like you can extend your stay by one night and order a cruise on an ice breaker at the sea. One of the greatest experiences is waiting for us!

1790 Euros / adult and 1290 / child under 12. Additional night in half board with ice breaker cruise +490 Euros / person, children under 12 by 290 Euros. Overnight in glas igloo is available.
