Tonight as we made our way to our base camp we stopped to watch the first visible northern lights of the evening, the sky still bright with twilight was not enough to hide this display. We continued on and stopped again at one of our locations to catch a brighter burst of northern lights in a now a little darker sky, what promise for the night to come! The northern lights were just visible but very pale while we waited, the fire was inviting in the cool evening air. Then we got what we so wanted to see, right above us this time the northern lights danced across the sky, they faded again but then came back with a stronger burst of activity, wow was this worth seeing, nature has been very kind tonight.
