Our little hilltop was trying hard to open up the cloud, the moon peeping at us from time to time through the thin cloud covering the almost open sky above. The glow of the fire was casting shafts of orange light across the snow from the windows and through the door, inviting us to gather around the fire. The fire was perfect, so the food soon warmed and then it was time to choose a warm drink, how revealing! Then stories of life in Lapland were shared as the warm drinks and korppu were enjoyed by all. The evening moved on and we had time to explore some Lappish shamanism, well what revelations we had to come. Our glob trotting guests came from far and wide but it was the power of local traditions here that pulled us into a group sharing an experience, such memories to take home. And as always the shadow from our tins never lies.
