This was a beautiful Lappish night, with plenty of fresh snow and the moon shining out of hiding. Just when we arrived in Katkavaara the sky started to open up every now and then, and we could admire the stars. After explaining the Northern Lights phenomenon we enjoyed our BBQ in a wooden teepee. Calm and cozy atmosphere was definitely there while waiting for aurora. We tried some of the local shamanism and wondered about our future. That night the northern lights decided to stay hidden, let’s hope next time they will show whole their majesty.
