We headed out of a cloudy Rovaniemi to head out into the wilderness to our viewing location, stopping to check the sky on the way. So many stars out away from the city and a ghostly pale arc of the northern lights to give hope of more to come. Once at our viewing spot the arc of the northern lights began gently getting stronger, little by little, then the show really began. They got much brighter and taller, reaching high into our dark, clear and starry sky. Without a chance to complete explaining the creation of the northern lights we were rushing to get our cameras open and get photographing. The northern lights gave us three bright bursts of activity over the evening, giving so much time to experiment with photography and to watch and enjoy them. What an evening we had!
