We spent some time at our first checking spot tonight as the sky was clear and we could take advantage of the dark sky before the moon rose. The stars look so bright against deep dark space, the clear sky though grew hazy and it was time to move on. At our wilderness location we arrived to find the thin cloud opening, the clear open patch of sky growing slowly as we watched. There was so much to tell our guests about this snow covered world we have up here. The fireside creates the perfect atmosphere to exchange stories and experiences of life up here in the arctic. There was time to share our Lappish shamanism, that chance to experience this aspect of belonging here.
