Tall swirling pillars of bright green light brought our journey back to a halt 19.11.21 November 19, 2021

The bright clear sky flooded with light from the full moon and kept the location of the northern lights a secret. But finally as we were around the fire, the call to go out was heard. The display was beginning, tall shafts of green light began to form in an arc across out sky. This was it! Or so we thought. Lots of pictures taken and what a relief to see something after waiting until midnight for signs of the northern lights. But the best was yet to come. As we headed home, the fuzzy green haze of the northern lights suddenly brightened, then swirling tall pillars of bright green light rippled across the sky. We stopped at a perfect spot to watch, everyone was out of the car in a flash and eager to make the most of this display. Wow, what an ending to our adventure under the gaze of the full moon in Lapland.
