We stopped on our way out into the wilderness to watch an early display of the northern lights from one of our spotting places, what a start to the evening. We finally made it to our destination to see the display brighten again, the northern lights were explained while we watched the very topic being discussed gently performing across our sky. A dip in activity presented the opportunity to enjoy food and warm drinks around the fire, good old story telling time is so natural around the fire. Then the display changed, no more fuzzy glow, tall pillars of light stretching up into space began forming from the west. The whole group was called out to watch and what a great ending to our trip this was, with a final surge in activity pushing the northern lights above our heads. The stuff dreams are made of under our magical Lapland sky.
