Very tall northern lights in a very clear sky 17.09.2019 September 18, 2019

Tonight the sky was so clear, the moon rose as we headed towards our base camp in the wilderness. The northern lights were just visible if you looked hard, lurking in the twilight and the brightening moon light. We climbed up the hill, catching our first sighting of the northern lights trying to brighten up. At the hilltop we watched and waited but not for long as the northern lights were quick to brighten and become visible, they were so close and so tall. Pillars of light reaching up into space above us, wow what a gift from nature tonight was. The display lasted a while before loosing brightness, time enough for us to be amazed by the power and beauty of nature. They brightened again on our way down the hill as if to say goodnight. We kept watch on the way back for further signs but all we spotted was a huge male moose right beside the road staring at us, what an ending to our tour!
